Hi everybody!
Sorry for the late post this week, I have been out sick for the past few days. Our annual end of year tournament is coming up! During the next couple of weeks, we will be having mock tournaments for fencers to participate in before spring break. Because GMAS is coming up, these tournament days will serve as our last meetings for fencing this year. Parents are invited and encouraged to come watch our tournament and support all of our participants. Our proposed tournament dates are as follows: March 13 - Open Tournament (all may participate) March 15 - Veteran Fencing Tournament March 20 - Beginner Fencing Tournament Please note that in order to participate in the tournament, and for safety reasons, fencers must purchase a glove and plastron or have a friend who is willing to share. A glove and plastron are among the cheapest pieces of equipment, and I will be adding links for each piece from Absolute Fencing, which can be found at the bottom of this post. It takes roughly three days for any orders to arrive in Savannah, which is why our beginner tournament will be on the 20th. Please check out the Purchasing tab for information on how to size your child for equipment. Each tournament will take place during regular club times (3-5pm) in the Multipurpose Room. I will make another post (hopefully before the end of Sunday) to confirm the planned dates, as I will have to make sure there are no other events during those times and will have to have Ms. Tanya add them to the calendar. All fencers are encouraged to participate, but are not required to. Our end of year tournament serves as the culmination of everything our fencers have learned and practiced this year in a friendly competition. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
